I do not speak officially on behalf of the LDS Church, and I am really no one of consequence. (DONE)
But, I am an active and faithful member of the LDS Church, and currently teach the Temple Preparation class in my ward. I have invested time and effort in learning about the history, symbolism, and meaning of the LDS Temple “by study and also by faith” (D&C 88:118) The more useful and edifying things I have discovered are listed on the Temple Index.
Following my mission, I served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple, and still have portions of the ceremony memorized. I’ve watched and helped several family members, friends, and converts attend the Temple for the first time, and I think I understand the concerns of someone in that position.
These pages are my witness of the importance, sanctity, and validity of the ordinances of the Temple, restored by God through Joseph Smith, and built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In writing and refining these pages, I have tried to be sensitive both to the sanctity of the Temple and to the feelings of one who may be attending the temple without support of family, the familiarity of experience, or the knowledge of study. My goal and hope is that someone will find them helpful, edifying, and strengthening. ©
